CJRW earns third consecutive Best of Show at ADDY’s

LITTLE ROCK — Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods once again dominated the 2014 ADDY Awards competition sponsored by the Little Rock chapter of the American Advertising Federation by taking home 116 awards.

The ADDY Awards were held February 21 at the Arkansas Arts Center and are the advertising industry’s premier awards ceremony. The ADDYs recognize excellence in creative design, advertising and promotional campaigns across all media channels. The 2014 competition drew approximately 400 entries from agencies and organizations throughout Arkansas. In 2013, CJRW won more than half of the professional awards entered in the Advertising Federation’s Little Rock Chapter ADDY competition.

“As gratifying as our sheer number of ADDYs was, it was even more satisfying that they represented work on behalf of 19 agency clients,” said Jay Cranford, CJRW’s Chief Creative Officer. “That speaks first and foremost to clients who provide us the opportunity to create outstanding work. It also reflects the depth of great creative talent we have assembled at CJRW.”

CJRW’s 2014 winnings included the top four Special Judges’ Awards including “Best of Show” for the cover design of one of America’s classic novels, Fahrenheit 451. The cover, designed by Matt Owen, was selected by Simon and Schuster for its 60th Anniversary publication of the 1954 classic by Ray Bradbury.

The agency also took home ADDYs for “Best Integrated Campaign” for Oaklawn Jockey Club in Hot Springs; “Best Public Service Campaign” for AR Kids Read; and “Best of Broadcast” for the Arkansas Municipal League.

It was the third consecutive year that CJRW won the coveted “Best of Show Award.”

“I could not be more proud of the entire creative team,” said Wayne Woods, chairman and chief executive officer of CJRW. “It speaks to Jay’s leadership and the commitment his team has to creating excellent work that drives results for each and every client. To see their work, and our clients recognized by the industry’s leading association is very, very humbling for us.”

Of CJRW’s 116 ADDY’s, 19 were Gold, 41 were Silver and 56 were Bronze. CJRW’s Gold and Silver ADDY’s become eligible for the 10th District ADDY Awards competition of the AAF. The 10th District ADDY Awards ceremony will be held in Austin, Texas. The 10the District includes Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, as well as Arkansas. Gold ADDY winners at the District level move on to the national ADDY Awards to be held in Boca Raton, Florida.

Other clients represented among CJRW’s ADDY’s include the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, the Arkansas Department of Health’s Stamp Out Smoking campaign, Entergy, South on Main, Arkansas State Parks, Hunt Chapel, Austin City Limits Music Fest, Mozilla Firefox, Rio Mio Ranch, Greers Ferry, Stone’s Throw, the Arkansas Advertising Federation, Add This, and CJRW.

Work for Oaklawn Jockey Club won 19 ADDY’s. Other big winners among the agency’s clients were the Arkansas Municipal League with 18 awards; AR Kids Read with 15; the Department of Arkansas Parks and Tourism and Stamp Out Smoking, both of which won 12 awards; and the Hot Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission with seven ADDY’s.
