Conway Blue takes advantage of Bryant White’s slow start

CONWAY — A sluggish start proved too much to overcome as the Bryant White Lady Hornets of Bryant Middle School suffered a 12-25, 21-25 loss at Conway Blue on Tuesday night.

“That game really didn’t show our true team,” stated Lady Hornets coach DeAnna Ward. “We are much better than those scores show. Unfortunately, we were not ready to play. I don’t know if it was the three-day weekend or the third week of school or what, but we were dragging. We didn’t move our feet. Our serve-receive killed us.”

Ward said things improved as the match went along.

“We looked a lot better the second set,” she said. “Jadyn Nichols really came through for us. She went 7 for 7 on her serves and all seven were aces. Raven Loveless also looked good in the second set. She had three aces and was aggressive at the net with three kills and three blocks.”

Bryant White will try to get on track on Tuesday, Sept. 10, with a visit to Anthony School in Little Rock.
