Council approves other ordinances for rezoning

The Bryant City Council considered the requested reading of ordinances put before them in their last meeting on Nov. 18.

The second reading of property requested to be rezoned from[more] residential-mixed use to highway commercial at 105 and 107 Ethel Drive was passed by the Council. The property is located west of Liberty Real Estate at the corner of Reynolds Road and Ethel Drive.

James and Joyce Waite own lot 16 and lot 17 in the Big Oak Subdivision, which was the property location on its Ethel Drive address.

Applicant Michal Bolin and Central Arkansas Developers requested to rezone property from residential single (RS) to RIS Singe Family in the southeastern portion of Springhill Village. The property, located south of Hilldale Road and between Springhill Road and Miller Road, was residential and approved prior to becoming annexed into the city.

The standards of the zone were changed to RIS upon annexation and all lots in phase 1 of the subdivision are not compliant with zoning in the area. The Council passed a second reading of the Ordinance for this property.

A request to rezone property from single family to highway commercial at Raymar Road was put back until January by the Council.

"It's to give the owners and residents of that area time to sit down and discuss things," Mayor Larry Mitchell said.

The revised zoning map of the Springhill District received a second reading from the Council.
