City officials, area businesses, People for Parks and the residents of Bryant will try again this Thursday.
At 11:30 a.m., the grand opening of[more] The Center of Bryant in Bishop Park will be held after the original event was postponed last week by inclement weather.
The festivities will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon catered by Jordan’s Barbecue of Bryant. The luncheon is $8 per person.
Following the luncheon, visitors can take the opportunity to tour The Center, which offers state of the art Cybex fitness and cardio equipment, indoor basketball and volleyball courts, a heated therapeutic swimming pool, junior Olympic eight-lane swimming pool, 1/10 mile indoor walking track, and the Senior Activity Center.
Starting at 4 p.m., the Bryant youth sports organizations will be on display in the gymnasium. On showcase will be the Bryant Athletic Association, the Bryant Softball Association, the Bryant Soccer Club, plus the Racers & Barracudas swim teams. Hot dogs and drinks will be served at The Center from 4–7 p.m., in conjunction with other activities for the entire family.
