Despite loss, Bryant White plays Cabot South tougher in eighth grade girls game

Returning to competition for the first time since Dec. 17, the Bryant White Lady Hornets eighth[more] grade team faced a Cabot South team, which had handed them a 52-14 loss early in the season. Bryant White played the Lady Panthers tougher this time but still wound up on the short end of a 32-18 final.

“Overall, we played fairly well,” stated Lady Hornets coach Caleb Harper. “We rebounded the basketball well and didn’t give up many easy baskets defensively, which was a major improvement since the first time we played.”

Cabot managed a 14-8 edge at the end of the first quarter and held a 24-12 advantage at halftime.

Hadley Dickinson paced the Lady Hornets with 8 points. Kennedy Harris came through with 5 points, Destiny Martin 3 and Deja Rayford 2.

Bryant White travels to Benton for its next game on Monday, Jan. 14.
