Hornets B team completes unbeaten season by beating Sheridan twice

The Bryant Hornets B team completed an undefeated season with a double-header sweep of the Sheridan B team on Monday at Bryant High School Field.

The Hornets won the first game 12-5 in seven innings then improved to 15-0 with a 5-4 win in five innings to complete the sweep.[more]

In the opening game, Hayden Lessenberry smacked two doubles and drove in a run while Marcus Wilson added a double and a triple. Tyler Green also had two hits and drove in a pair.

Quentin Motto picked up the win on the mound, going five innings and allowing three runs on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Hayden Daniel closed out the game with two innings of moundwork. He allowed two runs on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

The second game was tied 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth when Blaine Jackson led off with a double. He took third on a grounder to the left side by Motto then scored on Josh Davis’ sacrifice fly to center to give the Hornets the win.

Daniel Richards had a double and an RBI for the Hornets.

Seth Alkire was the starting pitcher, working thee innings. Wilson worked the last two innings and picked up the win in relief.
