Hornets B team splits twinbill with Sylvan Hills

Devin Dupree and Gary Williamson combined on a shutout as the Bryant Hornets B team won the[more] first game of a doubleheader against the Sylvan Hills Bears on Monday.

Sylvan Hills out-slugged the Hornets for an 8-6 win in the second game.

Now 4-2, the B team is set to play again on Monday, April 4, against Little Rock Catholic.

Dupree tossed four innings of the six-inning game with Williamson finishing up for the save.

At the same time, the Hornets were limited to two runs on four hits. Austin Caldwell, Zach Graddy, Chase Tucker and Cody Gogus provided the hits. Gogus’ singled drove in Graddy for one of the runs. Tucker scored the other on a passed ball.

In the second game, Dalton Holt went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in. Tristen Matthews chipped in with the only other hit, a triple down the right-field line that drove in Holt. Matthews scored as well when the relay throw to third went over the head of the Sylvan Hills’ third baseman.
