PINE BLUFF — Drew Alpe ran for a pair of touchdowns and Pierce Finney added a third as the Bryant Hornets junior varsity team put together a 21-0 win over the Pine Bluff Zebras JV Monday night.

“The defense played great,” said Hornets coach Clint Shadwick. “The offense was able to run the ball successfully all night. It was a great effort on both sides of the ball.”

The coach praised quarterback Madison Schrader as well. “He did a great job of leading the team. He completed several passes during critical times in the game.

“The offensive line was dominant throughout the game,” Shadwick added. “They are the reason we were so successful running the ball.

“The defense put pressure on Pine Bluff all night,” he added. “They held on fourth down several times and forced a turnovers throughout the game.
