Heather Kizer has seen months of hard work pay off.

On Tuesday in the Nov. 2 election, Kizer won the Bryant City Clerks position over current City Clerk Brenda Cockerham, who has held the job for eight years.[more]

"After a couple of months of very hard work, it’s finally over and we did it," Kizer said. "Thank you, Bryant, for your votes and for your confidence in me to be your next City Clerk. I haven’t spoken with Mrs. Cockerham, but I would like to thank her for her years of service to the City of Bryant. I wish her and her family all the best."

Kizer thanked her husband Mark Kizer and children Aaron and Ashlin and the rest of her family and friends for their "unwavering support.

"Everyone who worked on my campaign — I could not have done it without you — thank you so much! We walked a lot of miles together and I will never forget your friendship and hard work,” she added. “I am deeply grateful to God and to the people who have allowed me this opportunity to serve our community."

As City Clerk, Kizer plans to accomplish her platform of transparency and accountability in city government.

"I will run the office in the most efficient and effective manner possible and will look for areas we can cut expenses and eliminate waste," she said. "I plan to make information much more available and accessible to the citizens. My doors will be open and together we will move Bryant forward in the right direction.

“Thanks again to all who voted for me, encouraged me, prayed and supported me throughout this campaign,” she reiterated. “I truly appreciate it. God bless."
