Lady Hornets’ trio earn post-season honors

Seniors Logan Davis and Courtney Davidson along with junior Dezerea Duckworth have been[more] named all-conference for the Bryant Lady Hornets basketball team. In addition, Davis was named to the all-State Tournament team.

Davis, named all-conference for the second time, averaged 11.1 points per game, shot 33 percent from 3-point range and 67 percent from the free-throw line. She scored a season-high 20 points against Sheridan.

“Logan had a very good senior year,” said Lady Hornets coach Brad Matthews. “She really grew as a player as the season went on.”

Davidson averaged 10.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. She was a 74 percent shooter at the line. She had a season high 24 points against Alma.

“Courtney played well throughout the season,” Matthews said. “She was our best rebounder.”

Duckworth, named all-conference for the second time, led the team with a 12.6 points per game average including a season-high 21-point performance against North Little Rock. She averaged 6.3 rebounds per game and hit 63 percent of her free throws.

“Dez had a very good junior year,” Matthews said. “She made noticeable improvements from her 10th grade year.

“Our entire senior class of Courtney, Logan along with Hayley Murphy, Kristen Scarlett and Whitney Meyer will leave huge shoes to fill for our upcoming team,” Matthews added. “This group of seniors made a lasting impression both on and off the floor. They were a privilege to coach.”
