A special Finance and Personnel City Council meeting was scheduled last night at the Boswell Municipal Complex, but was cancelled[more] late due to the fact that there were not enough council members present for a quorum.
At the meeting, the recent issue with Mayor Jill Dabbs and the alleged misuse of the City of Bryant public funds was to be discussed. Alderman Danny Steele requested that Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Ken Casady conduct an investigation to resolve the matter of Dabbs increasing her and City Clerk Heather Kizer’s salaries without approval of the City Council.The issue will be discussed at the regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, March 31, at 7 p.m.
According to a recent press release, Casady concluded his investigation and stated, “The Mayor’s conduct was not criminal and the evidence does not support filling criminal charges.”
