Obituary: Bradley Wayne Jones

Bradley Wayne Jones, 45, of Woodlawn, Ark., boarded the train to Heaven Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, after[more] losing his courageous fight against cancer.

Born June 10, 1967, in Kennett, Mo., he was the son of James S. Jones and the late Patricia Ann James Jones. He was reared and received his early education in Kennett. He was a 1985 graduate of Senath-Hornersville High School. He was active in the Boy Scouts, achieving his Eagle Scout during high school.

Upon graduation, he joined the United States Air Force, followed by the Army National Guard.

He was employed by Arkansas Department of Corrections for several years. He then went to work for the Union Pacific railroad. At the time of his death, he was an Engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad. His love and passion for his job continued through his battle with cancer.
He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. He lived each day for his family. He adored his children and grandchildren to the moon and back. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, yard work, tinkering with trucks and cars and the sport of racing.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Cooper and Azalee Jones; his maternal grandparents, Henry and Myrtice James; and his mother, Patricia Jones.

He is survived by his father, James S. Jones, of Kennett, Mo.; his loving wife Susie Hall Jones, of Woodlawn; his four children, Matthew Blake Jones and Mason Blaine Jones, both of Bryant; Rebecca Grimes-King and Robyn Wood-Grimes, both of Woodlawn; his four grandchildren, Riley Scott Boyd, Hanah Lynn King, Hayven Daniele King and Rhett Kennedy Wood, all of Woodlawn; his brother, Brent Allen Jones, of Kennett, Mo.; his sister, Regina Kay Jones, of Kennett, Mo.; and his mother-in-law, Mae Hall, of Pine Bluff.

He was also loved and cared for by loyal friends Jeff and Alyce Bryant, Jay and Mary Skillen, and Will and Monica King and countless more. He had a great love for all family, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many cousins who loved him a great deal.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, Woodlawn, Ark., with Rev. Don Breshears officiating, by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Robinson’s.
