Prescotts win fishing tourney in Texas

By Kirk Stewart

Family memories are so important. Sitting on the porch sipping lemonade with a grandparent … family trips to the beach … playing catch in the front yard … and, of course, a good ol’ father-son fishing trip.

And, what could be better than a father-son fishing trip? Why, a father-son fishing trip that nets $1000![more]

That’s just what happened this past weekend as Reid Prescott and his dad Bill Prescott won the Texas Bass Cat Owners event at Cedar Creek Lake.

All together, there were 57 boats (two people per boat) in the tournament. The Prescotts were the lone representatives from Arkansas. The rest were from Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. They won the event with 14 pounds.

Reid is a senior at Bryant High School and plays basketball for the Hornets. He plans on attending UCA in the fall.

A portion of the proceeds raised from the event went to Youth with a Mission (YWAM).

  1. Congratulations! Nice to see this great event supporting YWAM, too. We can all support YWAM every day, too, just by using YWAM’s yahoo search page. It’s free to use it (like any search engine), but YWAM earns money when we do. There’s also a ywam browser toolbar that you can add to make it even easier to use it every day. http://www.freelanthropy.com/search/ywam

  2. Good day! I’ve read your article about the tournament at Cedar Creek Lake. Congratulations for winning, you’ve done a great job, and just got 14 pounds. Just continue posting some articles. Thank you.
