WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TOY AS A KID? I didn’t play with toys. I played with softballs.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? I’m going to UAM. I’ve got an academic scholarship there and I’m going to become a teacher.

OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO HAS HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? Probably my softball team; they help me be a better person. They always want the best for me and they tell me what is good for me and what isn’t good for me and show me what I should and shouldn’t be doing.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT SOFTBALL: Diving, getting dirty.

POSITION: Shortstop.

WHAT’S YOUR APPROACH AT THE PLATE? Just knock the crap out of the ball.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? It’s good. It’s a lot better than we did last year. And I think we actually have a chance this year. You know, last year was a rebuilding season but this year I think we might actually have it in the bag.

WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT TO THE SEASON SO FAR? I don’t thing we’ve had it yet. I don’t think we’ve peaked yet.

WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THE TEAM TO BE SUCCESSFUL THE REST OF THE WAY? I think we have the team bonding, team chemistry. I think it’s hitting. We hit but it’s just directly to people. We need to find gaps.

TALK ABOUT YOUR GAME. WHAT ARE YOU MOST CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO DO? Defense.

WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST IN PRACTICE TO IMPROVE ON? Hitting line drives.

AFTER YOU’RE THROUGH PLAYING SOFTBALL AT BHS, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT IT? Honestly, probably, State championships, going to Fast Lanes while we were at State, winning all these prizes and coming home with a State championship and bus full of blow-up toys.
