WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TOY AS A KID? A toy gun

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? I plan to go to college at UALR and go into sports medicine.

OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO HAS HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? I’d have to say my grandparents; they’ve helped me a lot. They keep me going. They help me and I help them on the farm and stuff.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT FOOTBALL? Getting to go to practice every day, getting to knock heads, have fun and listen to Coach (Paul) Calley coach and everything; and being in the weight room lifting weights, meeting new people, having friends and just doing good during the football season.

POSITION: Nose guard

WHAT DO YOU FEEL LIKE IS YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY ON THE FIELD? Take control of your gaps, make sure nobody gets through, blow up the center.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? I think it’s pretty good. I mean we could’ve done better at the start but I don’t have anything bad to say. It’s just what God wants it to be. We’ve just got to give full effort and we are and we’re going to do good.

WHEN THE TEAM’S PLAYING WELL, WHAT’S THE KEY TO THAT? Go 100 percent all the time, make sure you know what you’re supposed to be doing, your job, and only do your job. Don’t point fingers at anybody. That’s what Coach Calley always says, never point fingers, and I think that leads to good things.

WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE SEASON SO FAR? Our win against Benton. That was just real good. I like how we played that game. For Saline County, it was the biggest game but, to me, I wanted to beat Benton and I’m glad we did. We played good football.

INDIVIDUALLY, WHAT ABOUT YOUR GAME ARE YOU MOST CONFIDENT ABOUT? I just feel like you have to pay attention and just give full effort. Even if you’re not starting, just make sure you give full effort every time you get out there on the field.

WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST TO IMPROVE? I work hard in the drills, like the tackling drills. And whenever we’re going over stunts and stuff. I try to go full speed all the time and even when I’m on the scout team with Coach Calley, I try to give the offense a real good look so they’ll know what will be coming against them on Friday night.

AFTER YOU’RE THROUGH PLAYING FOOTBALL AT BHS, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT IT? I’m going to miss everybody. I’ll miss my friends. I’m going to miss strapping the pads on and I’m going to miss making people better because, you know, I don’t start and it’s my job to make them better for Friday night. It’s going to be tough. I’m going to miss it a whole lot. I’m going to miss Coach Calley, all of the coaches.
