WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TOY AS A KID? Probably a baseball.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? To go to college at ASU and run for them and study engineering

OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO’S HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? HOW? Probably Coach (Steve) Oury and my grandpa. Coach Oury, I’ve known him for five years now and been with him just about every day of the week, most of the year. And my grandpa, he’s just been a big influence on my life. He’s always been there.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TRACK? I love to run, so running, and, I guess, hanging out with the team. The team, it’s always fun to hang out with them.

EVENT? I run the one mile and the 3200 meters.

WHAT APPROACH DO YOU TAKE TO YOUR EVENTS? I stretch and then I just try to do the best that I’ve got for that day, just see what I’ve got, push myself as hard as I can through it and, hopefully, I’ve given it my all when it’s all over.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? The season’s been decent. We haven’t had any outstanding times but I think we’ve still got a chance at conference and State to show what we can do best.

WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT TO THE SEASON SO FAR? State Indoor was probably the highlight of my season so far. It’s fun to run up there on that indoor track (at the University of Arkansas).

WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THE TEAM TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT CONFERENCE AND STATE? It’s going to take everybody, the best of their abilities, everything they’ve got in all their events. No holding back, no messing up, and we can do pretty good. We’re pretty good out there if we can do that.

TALK ABOUT YOUR EVENT NOW; WHAT DO THINK IS YOUR BIGGEST ASSET? WHAT ARE YOU MOST CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO DO? I’m pretty good at long-distancing runs. I can just keep going. But sprints, short stuff, I’m not very fast. In the 100, 200, even the 400, I’m very slow in that.

WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST IN PRACTICE TO IMPROVE ON? My distance training.

WHEN YOU’RE THROUGH RUNNING TRACK AT BRYANT HIGH SCHOOL, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL LOOK BACK AND REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE? Probably just all the fun me and my teammates had just hanging out and running together, and Coach Oury with us all. It’s been fun.
