WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TOY AS A KID? Polly Pockets

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? I’m going to Henderson State University and major in early education.

OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO’S HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? HOW? My youth pastor, Zack Martin. He’s helped me grow as a person, spiritually.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TRACK? The team.

EVENTS? Pole vault and the open 400.

WHAT APPROACH DO YOU TAKE TO YOUR EVENTS? I love them. The fact that there’s only a few pole vaulters here at Bryant High School is awesome and the fact that I’m one of them is awesome.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? It’s going great. We’ve got a pretty good team this year.

WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE SEASON SO FAR? When we won our home meet.

WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THE TEAM TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT CONFERENCE AND STATE? Teamwork, most definitely, and accomplishing personal goals.

TALK ABOUT YOUR EVENTS NOW; WHAT DO YOU THINK IS YOUR BIGGEST ASSET? WHAT ARE YOU MOST CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO DO? Coming up in conference, I’m not doing the open 400. I’m actually only pole vaulting and the past few weeks I’ve gotten much better because I’ve practiced hard.

WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST IN PRACTICE TO IMPROVE ON? In pole vault, it would have to be getting your steps down perfectly. And it’s just getting into the mental zone.

WHEN YOU’RE THROUGH RUNNING TRACK AT BRYANT HIGH SCHOOL, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL LOOK BACK AND REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE? It would have to be the team because the events are fun but cheering on all the team members in their event and then coming together and winning is probably the most enjoyable aspect of track.
