WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TOY AS A KID? Probably just picking up a bat and a ball and throwing with my dad.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? Go to college at Southeast Missouri State and study engineering.

OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO HAS HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? My grandfathers; both of them work on a farm. Just seeing them working hard every day for years and years and going out there with them teaches me a lot.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT BASEBALL: Baseball here, just seeing how much our hard work pays off. You know we practice every morning and it really showed two years ago when we won a State championship. We’re hoping to do the same thing this year.

POSITION: Shortstop

WHAT’S YOUR APPROACH AT THE PLATE? Hit fastballs early in the count.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? I think we’ve had a good year, only two losses.

WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT TO THE SEASON SO FAR? We just beat Benton recently, that was a big win to seal up conference hopefully. We should be fine from here.

WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THE TEAM TO BE SUCCESSFUL THE REST OF THE SEASON? We’re going to have to keep playing solid defense behind our pitching. Our pitchers are doing a great job and especially when we get up to State we’re going to have to score a lot of runs.

TALK ABOUT YOUR GAME: WHAT DO YOU FEEL MOST CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO DO? Swinging it; I’m feeling confident on both sides of the plate right now.

WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST TO IMPROVE ON IN PRACTICE? I need to keep working on my throwing, less throwing errors, just make less errors in the field.

AFTER YOU’RE THROUGH PLAYING BASEBALL AT BHS, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT IT? I’ll definitely think about coming in at 6 o’clock every morning with all these guys. We’ve experienced a lot of good times and some tough times. We’ll remember them all and they’re all for the better.
