“It was a very good tournament for us,” stated Lady Hornets coach Doug Maxwell. “The tournament had eight teams in it and was played in 30-minute halves with a running clock, so it was good to test our stamina as the day went on."

North Little Rock defeated Nettleton and Jonesboro to get to the championship game.

Earlier in the season, the Lady Hornets had defeated the Lady Charging Wildcats, 3-0, at Bryant in a conference game. They’re set to tangle again on Thursday, April 16, after Bryant hosts Cabot on Tuesday in league action.

Amber Moskow and Sarah Manning had goals for the Lady Hornets in the championship contest with Lindsai Arceneaux, back from a knee injury, contributing an assist.

“We played on a massive field,” Maxwell said of the final game.“It measured 75 yards by 135 yards.”

“We controlled the game but were unlucky in finding the back of the goal,” mentioned the coach who added that the Valley View game went much the same way.

Bryant allowed just two shots by Valley View as well while attempting 28.

The lone goal was recorded by Katie Moore off an assist from Maggie Hart.

In the opener, the Lady Hornets led 3-0 at the half then poured it on the second.
