After being held without a point in the third quarter by the Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School, the Bryant White Hornets of Bryant Middle School did just enough in the fourth stanza to extract a 32-28 win at Bethel Middle School gym on Thursday night.

Will Diggins led the way with 10 points and 12 rebounds for the White Hornets. Isaiah Kearney added 8 points with Daizure Hale adding 5, Caleb Carter 4. Khasen Robinson and Landyn Newburn connected a pair of free throws each in the fourth quarter.

For Blue, Zach Foote scored 9, Demetrius Sanders 8 and Jaylen Williams 6. Isaac Devine hit a 3 and Josh Blackmon had 2.

“It was very intense and both teams played with great effort,” said Bryant White coach John Harrison. “We were ahead 24-15 at the half but Bethel came out and showed some toughness.”

Bethel pushed to a 29-28 lead, holding Bryant White to one field goal in the entire second half.

“Every shot we took was contested and nothing was easy,” noted Harrison. “We made key free throws late to get the win.”

The lead for Bryant white was 13-8 after a quarter.
