The Center at Bishop Park was the site of the 39th annual Bryant Winter Banquet[more] last night. Hundreds of people from different businesses throughout the city were present along with city government representatives and state government representatives. Bryant City Council Aldermen were present along with Mayor Jill Dabbs.

The night began with emcee Tom Baxley welcoming everyone and recognizing some special guests.

"We are thrilled to have this facility and each and every one of you here," Baxley said.

Matt Mosler of KARK Channel 4 was the main speaker of the event. Mosler is a co-anchor and meteorologist at Channel 4 and has 20 years of experience in the field of television. He is a five-time AP Award Winner and has written a book and produced two CD’s. With his wife and three children, Mosler currently resides in Sherwood.

"I'm a big fan of the town of Bryant," Mosler said.

He went on to compliment Bryant for their steep competition in sporting events along with praising the fans of Bryant for being so supportive.

"What makes this town so great is civic pride,” he stated.

Mosler spoke about the state of Arkansas and how citizens have a lot to be proud of. He then challenged the audience to be a great piece to the puzzle of Bryant.

"Everyone must do their part,” he said. “God bless you guys for what you're doing and I hope you have an even better 2012."

Everett Buick GMC was the lead sponsor again this year and was recognized for their contributions to the event.

The Bryant Junior ROTC presented the colors and the Bryant High School Honeybees sang the National Anthem before dinner was served. Dinner was provided by Dinners Ready.

The silent auction was conducted once again this year but instead of just posting the results from the bids on the wall, they were also texted to participants who gave out their phone numbers with the results of the auction.
