Bethel girls get season underway

LITTLE ROCK — At the Panther Pride Tournament at The Anthony School this week, the Bryant Blue Lady Hornets seventh and eighth grade teams of Bethel Middle School came up short in three contests.

The eighth grade team battled Baptist Prep on Wednesday, absorbing a 39-32 loss. Ashton Inman led the Bethel effort with 8 points. Meagan Brown had 7, Abbey Inman 6 and Addison Funk 5. In addition, Ryleigh Laughlin scored 4 points and Kattrina Johnson 2.

The Lady Hornets’ seventh grade team suffered a 33-3 loss in their opener against Baptist Prep on Monday. Christine Mefford scored Bethel’s 3 points.

On Wednesday, in a consolation contest, the Lady Hornets fell 25-8 with Jade Rivers accounting for 6 points and Sadie Breeding adding 2.

The next outing for Bryant Blue will be Tuesday, Nov. 15, when they host Sheridan.
