CABOT — The Bryant Lady Hornets bounced back from a rugged 1-0 loss to league-leading Conway by[more] dismissing the Cabot Lady Panthers 4-0 on Thursday night.
Aided by Russellville’s 2-0 win over Mount St. Mary, the Lady Hornets pulled into a tie for second place in the 7A/6A-Central Conference. Bryant, Mount and Little Rock Central, which beat North Little Rock 3-1 on Tuesday, are all 4-2 in league play with Conway in first with a 6-0 conference mark after defeating Van Buren. The Lady Hornets host North Little Rock this Thursday.
Bryant dominated Cabot, launching 21 shots while allowing just three attempts. Tarra Hendricks got the scoring started within the first three minutes of the game. Later in the first half, McKenzie Adams got a goal off an assist from Shelby Gartrell.
In the second half, Hendricks launched a corner kick and, on a joint effort, Gartrell and Erica Selig got the ball to the back of the net. To finish off the scoring, Bailey Gartrell found the range off an assist from Lauren Reed.
“Overall, the girls played well,” said Bryant coach Julie Long. “They played with a lot more intensity in the second half.”
The win improved the Lady Hornets’ overall record to 11-6.
