Bryant White topples Cloverdale in eighth grade contest

Quarterback Jesse Windemaker ran for two scores and threw for another as the Bryant White Hornets eighth grade team of Bryant Middle School downed the Little Rock Cloverdale Lions Cubs, 24-8, at Hornets Stadium Tuesday.

In addition, Blaise Smith blocked a punt and recovered it for a touchdown.

Andrew Hayes caught the touchdown pass from Windemaker covering 42 yards.

The Hornets’ defensive work was highlighted by Grant Botti’s interception.

The win improved Bryant White to 2-1 on the season going into their Thursday, Sept. 25, contest at home against Ridge Road of North Little Rock.
