A clinic covering the basics of hitting and infield play will be[more] presented by Steve Miller, a recent addition to the staff at Diamond Sports in Bryant.
The clinic will be held Sunday, June 12, at 2 p.m. The cost is $15 for non members, free for members.
Miller, originally from Three Rivers, Mich., says he began playing baseball at the age of 5 and fell in love with the game immediately. During his high school career, he served as team captain and received several awards including Most Valuable Player and all-conference. His career batter average in high school was .415.
He went on to play right field and pitch for Evangel College in Springfield, Mo. In the field, Miller had 56 putouts without an error. His senior season, he hit .384 and was named second team all-conference and earned a Gold Glove in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. He also was named the team’s MVP while leading the team in hitting.
