RUSSELLVILLE — The Bryant Hornets return to action this afternoon with a 4 o’clock game to open the annual Cyclone Classic in Russellville. The Hornets will take on[more] the Arkadelphia Badgers then play on Friday and Saturday as well.
The team just finished play at the Searcy Bank Classic where they came as close as they’ve been to a win, suffering a 50-47 loss to tourney runner-up Benton.
First-year head coach Mike Abrahamson has his team working on a more aggressive style of play on both ends of the floor. So far, the team has been led offensively by guards Jordan Griffin and Brantley Cozart as well as forward Houston Garner. Quinton Motto leads the team in rebounding but has been plagued by foul trouble.
Abrahamson has the team working on becoming more consistent on offense including finding more ways to get to the free-throw line where the opposition has had an advantage — often considerable — in every game so far.
