Outdoor track season starts in Bryant this week

The outdoor track season gets under way this week with a pair of meets at Bryant Stadium. Today, the Junior Hornets Relays will pit Bryant's eighth and ninth grade teams against athletes representing 11 other schools including Bauxite, Benton and Sheridan. 
On Thursday, the annual Hornet Relays will be held with the Bryant High School teams hosting. Twenty other schools were set to send athletes to the event including 7A-Central Conference rivals, Cabot, Conway, Little Rock Central, Little Rock Catholic, Mount St. Mary's, North Little Rock and Russellville.
Both days, field events start at 3:45 p.m., running events at 4:30.
Junior High teams set to compete also include Arkadelphia, Conway Blue, Conway White, Heber Springs, Lake Hamilton, Hot Springs Lakeside along with Lakewood, Ridge Road and Rose City middle schools.
The field for the high school meet will also include Camden Fairview, Heber Springs, Hot Springs, Hot Springs Lakeside, Lake Hamilton, Little Rock Hall, Magnolia, Pulaski Academy, Pine Bluff Dollarway, Sheridan and Vilonia.
