WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TOY AS A KID? A fire truck

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? I’ll be playing football at OBU. I’m majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in Business.

OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO’S HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? HOW? I can’t think of one particular person. It would just be family members and trainers; just really being there and always giving me their advise on what they think. It was never like a forceful thing. It was always just advise, telling me what they think would be best.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TRACK? Winning the races because practice is not fun. Winning is when you see everything pay off.

EVENTS? 110 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles, the 4×100 and the 4×400.

WHAT APPROACH DO YOU TAKE TO YOUR EVENTS? I’m just going through everything that I have to do, everything that I have to execute. I’m not big on doing a whole bunch of talking before my races. I like to get my mind right.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SEASON SO FAR? It’s been a good season. I like how Coach (Steve) Oury exposed us to more competition this year, with kids from around the country. The last biggest track meet we went to was the Kansas Relays. That was a lot of fun.

WHAT’S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT TO THE SEASON SO FAR? It hasn’t happened yet. We still have the State meet and the Meet of Champs coming up.

WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THE TEAM TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT STATE? I really just think that everybody has to perform to the best of their abilities. We’ve been putting in the work so now it’s time to let it pay off.

TALK ABOUT YOUR EVENT NOW; WHAT DO THINK IS YOUR BIGGEST ASSET? WHAT ARE YOU MOST CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO DO? I’m out there to get the job done. I would think getting out of the blocks. For me, that pretty much determines my outcome in a race. So I’d say getting out of the blocks and my speed endurance.

WHAT DO YOU WORK HARDEST IN PRACTICE TO IMPROVE ON? Getting over the hurdles clean; getting my trail leg up.

WHEN YOU’RE THROUGH RUNNING TRACK AT BRYANT HIGH SCHOOL, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL LOOK BACK AND REMEMBER MOST FONDLY ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE? The fun we had in practice and the bus rides and just being with the guys.
