BAUXITE — The Bryant White Hornets seventh grade team of Bryant Middle School held the[more] Bauxite Crushers seventh grade scoreless in the second and fourth quarters on the way to a 36-4 win on Tuesday night. It was the Hornets’ season-opening contest.
Romen Martin led the Hornets with 5 points while Landon Smith, Jake East, John Winston and Hayden Knowles added 4 each.
Bryant White grabbed a 9-2 lead by the end of the first quarter and extended the advantage to 21-2 by halftime. It was 29-4 going into the fourth quarter.
“I was happy with the team effort we had,” said Hornets coach Heath Long. “Everyone showed a willingness to get the ball to the open man, and it showed with our balanced scoring. I was pleased with our defensive intensity as well.”
Bryant White returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Conway White.
