Tentative 2011 operating budget approved by Council

On recommendation from the Finance and Personnel committee, the 2011 operating budget was passed in a matter of seconds at the last Bryant City Council meeting.

The proposed budget should return[more] to the agenda for the January, 2011 Council meeting for further review and final adjustments.

"This is the bare information," Alderman Brenda Miller said.

"You can take a look at it again in January to make adjustments that need to be made," Mayor Larry Mitchell said.

Bryant finance director Gary Hollis indicated through a summary at the Finance and Personnel meeting that the city will have an $87,000 surplus in the General Fund, $273,000 surplus in the Street Department and $555,000 in the Water/wastewater department.

The Council also approved the 2010 amended budgets in the General and Street funds, as well.
